317th Veterans Group

 2024  Fayetteville, North Carolina Reunion

Thursday, September 5th through Sunday Sepember 8th

 

We have a block of rooms set aside for our group at the Courtyard Mariott hotel located at 120 North 5th Street in nearby Spring Lake, NC. We have a discounted rate of $123.00 plus tax per night. This rate is also good 2 days before and after the reunion dates. If for any reason you have to cancel your reservations, you may do so without penalty if you notify the hotel 48 hours before the date of your reservation. Our room block expires on August 23rd after that date the standard room rate of $159.00 will apply. So, please make those resevations early. To reserve a room at the discounted rate, call the hotel at 910-565-7008 and tell the reservation clerk that you are with the 317th Veterans Group. More reunion information and the Reunion Registration Form is in our July newsletter.

We plan to follow our usual reunion schedule: Casual dress for all events, except for the Saturday Evening Banquet where a jacket and tie is the recommended attire.. If you are not on our mailing list, but served in or under the 317th, email our reunion coordinator, Jim Timmons, jimt0708@aol.com and he will send you a newsletter with the reunion registration form.

Thursday, 9/5 Our hospitality room is open all day, with a welcome table for checking in and welcome bags with local information from the visitor's bureau. Our hat and t-shirt salesman, Mr. James Gregory will have his tables set up. At 7:00 PM we will have a meeting of all attendees to go over our reunion plans and events. If you use Thursday as a travel day, be sure to arrive in time for the 7:00 PM meeting.


Friday, 9/6 Our tour bus will arrive the hotel at 9:30 AM for visit to the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. We plan to have lunch at the nearby Haymount Truck Stop. After lunch we will visit Pope AAF to tour their Air Park display aircraft. We also plan to visit a 317th Airlift Wing C-130J and its crew.  We will return to the hotel about 3:30 PM.  In the evening, we will have a wine and cheese social at 7:00 PM in our hospitality room.
The cost per person for Friday is $25.00, which is for the bus transportation and the evening wine and cheese. We will be escorded by Public Affairs at Pope AAF as a group. so you can not use your personal vehicle.

Saturday, 9/7 Free time in the morning and early afternoon to see local attractions or spend some time in our hospitality room. At 5:00PM our Banquet room opens, 6:00PM everyone is seated for our opening remarks and guest speaker. 7:00 PM Buffet dinner served.

At 8:30PM we will have a local entertainer lined up until 9:30PM. 10:00 PM finish. 
The cost per person for Saturday is $40.00 this includes the buffet dinner and entertainment.

Sunday 9/8 8AM to 10AM Farewell breakfast and goodbyes .
