317th Veterans Group Joint
Reunion

This 317th Veterans Group reunion will be a joint reunion with the Berlin Airlift Veterans
Association. Also taking part in this reunion will be members of the Burtonwood
Association and the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation. Burtonwood Airbase in
England and the 317th Troop Carrier Wing both took part in the
Berlin Airlift. The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation will be flying their
C-54 “Spirit of Freedom” to the reunion, and it will be open for visits at the
nearby Green County Airport. The 317th Airlift Wing may have a
C-130J parked there as well if their schedule permits. All four of these
organizations have a common link in with the Berlin Airlift which will make for
a historic and memorable gathering.
Here are the current reunion details, more will be coming
in our May newsletter and will be posted on our web site ( www.usaf317thvet.org) A block of rooms has been set aside for our
groups at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center with a room rate of $119.63 this
rate includes taxes and complimentary buffet breakfast. Plans include a visit
to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, our Wine and Cheese Social and our
usual Saturday Evening Banquet. We will have bus service both to the Museum and
to the Green County Airport.

Timmons has been working with Mr. Eddie Ide, of the Berlin Airlift Veterans
Association on the plans for this reunion. We hope to have things finalized soon.
